Banks and Social Media: Everything You Need to Know

Social media is one of the hottest areas of marketing right now. It seems like everyone has a Twitter or Facebook account. But is it appropriate for banks to have a presence on social media sites? Will it make them look foolish or savvy? Is there a right way and a wrong way to do it?

The newest installment of the Stackpole Report on Banking answers these very questions. Titled Banks and Social Media: Everything You Need to Know, the study uncovers key trends among banking customers regarding social media venues such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and others. Specifically, it provides details about social media usage among bank customers, public perceptions about these sites, and the role that banks can play in this emerging media venue.

The report was conducted in September 2009 and is based on an online survey of more than 400 Massachusetts residents between the ages of 18-64, resulting in a margin of error of +/- 5% and a confidence level of 95%. Analysis was conducted in-house by Stackpole & Partners.
